The Buddy Family Program

Respect & Care

At Resurrection School, an active and thriving Buddy Family Program is in place where “families” consisting of students from various grades are buddies with each other, and welcome in new students from any grade.

The Buddy Family Program builds a wonderful respect for one another. The respect for diversity is one of the outgrowths of this program. Students care for each other, regardless of their background. Children celebrate who they are just the way that God has made them.

The staff has worked diligently to deal with any type of misbehavior between students that may arise and the Buddy Family Program helps to nurture care and empathy among the students and minimize any difficulties.

Outside of Academics

Buddy Families meet on a regular basis to provide an opportunity for the students to interact and mentor each other. Older students are responsible for the younger students within their Buddy Family at our weekly Mass, on field trips, during Buddy Family Time, and for other special occasions.

Our Buddy Family Program culminates in the annual “Buddy Mass” held on the last day of school for our 8th grade students. Their first grade buddies are the prayer leaders at Mass, and provide a glimpse in their own words and projected pictures as to what the buddy relationship has meant to them.

It is a treasured moment for all our graduates and their families.
