What Makes Resurrection Special

When selecting a school and community for your child and family, many factors need to be taken into account. We feel what differentiates Resurrection School are the following:

Z
The hallmark of our education is our faith, our Catholic values and our weekly Mass. Resurrection School is one of the few Catholic schools in the Diocese of San Jose to offer a weekly Mass, providing our students the opportunity to practice their faith with their peers and to participate as prayer leaders of the weekly celebration.
Z

Our strong academic program expands our curriculum to include foreign language, life skills, values, fine arts, and technology into the daily curriculum. We are fully accredited by the Western Catholic Educational Association, and we have strong standardized scores at all grade levels.

Z

We are a Drexel School. Our teachers are trained to use cutting-edge methods in their classrooms, creating a rigorous academic curriculum that is individualized for each student. Blended learning is a combination of teacher-led and individualized instruction using digital content on the iPad targeted to student needs.

Z

Our innovative approach incorporates the use of technology in the classroom. All students in Kindergarten – 8th grades are assigned an iPad.

Z

Our enrichment classes include Spanish once a week in TK and twice a week in Kindergarten – 8th grades. Music is offered once a week in TK – 5th grades, art once a week in all grades, and P.E. twice a week in all grades. A band program is offered through the Music School located next door on Thursday afternoons for students in 4th – 8th grades.

Z

Our classroom size averages 24-26 in our elementary grades and 27-29 in our junior high grades.

Z

Our values shine with our strong buddy system matching our older students with our younger students. This buddy program continues throughout the child’s tenure at Resurrection School and encourages our students to be thoughtful, unselfish, and understanding with their younger buddies. The bonds that develop are evident as many high school graduates return for their buddy’s sacraments, celebrations and other special occasions.

Z

Our large 10 acre campus encompasses several grassy areas for recess, P.E. and after-school sports play.  Our parking lot is large enough to accommodate parents in the mornings and afternoons.

Z

Our number one strength is our community, our students, our staff, clergy, families and alumni. Feedback from many families who have moved out of the area is to “treasure your community at Resurrection; it is a special place full of love and caring individuals”

Z

Our strong outreach program teaches students in all grades about giving back to those in need. Through the support of St. Vincent DePaul, InnVision, and several other organizations our students collect canned goods, host out of uniform days for cancer research, make lunches, and collect enough pennies to build sister schools in Nicaragua and send care packages around the world.

Z

Our summer programs offered for children entering Kindergarten – 8th grade include themed weekly events, field trips, and a variety of academic and enrichment workshops for up to 9 weeks during the summer months.
