After-School Activities
South Bay Robotics Robotics Program
Offered by our incredible alumni at South Bay Robotics, this program is a paid after-school club that takes place right on campus! The class is designed to ignite the passion for programming in students from Kindergarten through 8th grade.
South Bay Robotics’s engaging workshop is set to empower young minds with the knowledge and skills needed to create their own video games and robots. The video game workshop focuses on coding, where they use ScratchJR (for K-2nd grade), MakeCode Blocks (for 3rd-5th grade), and MakeCode JavaScript (for 6th-8th grade).
The robotics course follows the teams, curriculum and competitions of First Lego League, an internationally-recognized robotics program and competition. In this part of the program, they incorporate programming as the next step beyond coding to put code into action. This club meets once per week for 2 hours.
Cub Scouts
We offer Cub Scouts for boys in 1st-5th grade and for girls in Kindergarten-5th grade. Each Cub Scout troop engages in fun activities both on and off campus that promote fitness, teamwork, and resourcefulness.
Many of our students stick with scouting beyond their time at Resurrection, with some Eagle Scouts coming back to help serve at our school! These troops meet on campus once per week, and parent volunteers are key to leading and supporting these Scout troops.
Sports
Resurrection School makes available an extensive after-school sports program that is run and supported by the volunteer efforts of our Athletic Director, teachers, parents, and alumni. The program is open to all students in 4th-8th grade. Wherever possible, teams for each grade (4th -8th) are formed.
This program allows students to participate in organized athletic competition against other Catholic and private schools in the area. Our no-cut program provides an opportunity for all students to participate, regardless of ability. Please refer to our Athletics Program page for more information.
Choir
Our school choir is open to students in 3rd-8th Grade. Students practice once per week after school and provide the music at our weekly masses on Fridays. There are opportunities for students who play instruments to accompany the choir as well.
Middle School Dances
Our 7th and 8th graders attend dances with the other Diocesan schools at various times throughout the year. Resurrection School typically hosts the annual October dance, and school chaperones are present at all school dances. Students must maintain a certain grade point average and conduct grade to attend these dances.
Knights Chess Club
Students have the opportunity to join a paid, on-site Chess Club hosted by Castle Chess. A minimum of 5 students are required to join the club in order for us to have an instructor teach and facilitate the lessons and games. More details will be announced soon!
CAD 3D Printing Workshop
Mr. and Mrs. Hopkins will be providing our school with multiple 3-D printers, and will teach a 3-D Printer Programming workshop. More details will be announced soon!
