Mr. McMillen’s Biography

Mr. McMillen was born in Lexington, Kentucky, and currently lives with his family in San Jose, California.

He received his bachelor’s degree at Eastern Kentucky University, and his master’s degree from Anaheim University.

Mr. McMillen has been teaching for 16 years. While this is only his second year teaching at Resurrection, he previously taught in Tokyo, Japan at Tamagawa High School.

His favorite part of teaching is the kids. Mr. McMillen loves telling his students about his experiences and letting them know that they accomplish whatever they set their mind to. His favorite part of Resurrection is working with his coworkers and being on Resurrection’s beautiful campus!

When asked about a quote that best describes his teaching style, Mr. McMillen referenced Bruce Lee, when he said, “Be like water.” One thing that Mr. McMillen has learned is that when working with others, being flexible rather than stubborn is very beneficial to ease any tension. He himself tries his best to “be like water.”

In his free time, Mr. McMillen enjoys drawing and spending time with his wife and son. His son, Towa, is nine years old and attends Agnew Elementary School.

This school year, Mr. McMillen is most excited about getting to know the students better and teaching the 7th grade class for the first time!
