When selecting a school and community for your child and family, many factors need to be taken into account. We feel what differentiates Resurrection School are the following:
- The hallmark of our education is our faith, our Catholic values, and our weekly Mass. Resurrection School is one of the few Catholic schools in the Diocese of San Jose to offer a weekly Mass, providing our students the opportunity to practice their faith with their peers and to participate as prayer leaders of the weekly celebration.
- Our strong academic program, highlighted with our new building, expands our curriculum to include library, computer and science instruction into the daily curriculum. We are fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, and we have strong standardized scores at all grade levels.
- Our innovative approach to the use of technology in the classroom. New in 2011, Resurrection School piloted a 1:1 iPad program in our fifth grade with plans to expand this pilot to grades 5 - 8th in the future.
- Our enrichment classes include Spanish once a week in JK - 5th grades, and twice a week in 6th - 8th grades. Music is offered once a week in JK - 5th grades, art once a week in all grades, and P.E. twice a week in JK - 5th grades, and once a week for 6th - 8th grades. A band program is offered through the Music School located next door on Wednesday afternoons for students in 4th - 8th grades.
- Our classroom size averages 29-32 in our elementary grades and 33 in our junior high grades.
- Our values shine with our strong buddy system matching our older students with our younger students. This buddy program continues throughout the child's tenure at Resurrection School and encourages our students to be thoughtful, unselfish, and understanding with their younger buddies. The bonds that develop are evident as many high school graduates return for their buddy's sacraments, celebrations and other special occasions.
- Our large 10 acre campus encompasses several grassy areas for recess, P.E. and after-school sports play.
- Our number one strength is our community, our students, our staff, clergy, families and alumni. Feedback from many families who have moved out of the area is to "treasure your community at Resurrection; it is a special place full of love and caring individuals"
