Ms. Leah Israel

5th Grade Teacher
Has been teaching at Resurrection since: 2018

The 2018/19 school year was Miss Israel’s first year teaching in our Resurrection community. Previous to her time here at Res, Miss Israel taught at a local private school and has been working in education for over 10 years.

Miss Israel was born in San Jose and raised in Campbell, CA. She attended the University of Redlands where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and began her teaching credential program through their School of Education. Leah attributes her pursuit of becoming a teacher to her very own 5th grade teacher, who taught her the value of an educator is defined by how passionate you are about the success of your students.

Outside of the classroom, Miss Israel enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, sailing, and cheering on her favorite sports teams. During the fall, you will not find a Saturday where she isn’t cheering on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish with her closest friends. It has become a tradition with her students on Monday mornings to ask her how the Irish did that weekend.

Miss Israel challenges her students to come to school every day prepared to learn and with the understanding that their ability to excel is dependent on the mindset with which they approach each day. Each student becomes a part of her classroom’s ever-growing “family,” where they emphasize the importance of community and making their classmates’ success as high a priority as their own.
