Why did you choose to teach at Resurrection?

I chose to teach as Resurrection school because I really liked the community feel here.  The students all seemed happy and content and it felt like a place that I would fit in.

How do you keep current with the subject areas you cover?

I keep current on the latest trends in Kindergarten and new research in the areas of education and learning by attending the yearly Kindergarten conference.  I also participate in webinars and classes in the area of primary education and technology.

What are some of your interests/hobbies?

I am very interested in the arts and I enjoy painting and photography. I am also an avid textile artist.  If it has to do with art and creativity….I’m in!!

I also enjoy hiking and going to our National Parks, and recently started to learn the fine art of Canyoneering.

What do you want your students to take away from having known you?

I would love my students to take away the idea that learning happens all life long, and it is fun! That you can dance, be silly, and play, and still be a good student or contributing member of society. I want them to remember that life is an adventure!

What is the most important life lesson you want your students to learn in your class?

I want my students to become independent and responsible young people.  The most important life lesson my little ones can learn is living with integrity- doing the right thing even when no one is watching.
